Default Plenium gasket

So i pulled mt throttlebody off yestrday in hopes of a good cleaning, but as i lifted off the throttlebody i notices what may have been some oil in the bottom of the hole.(sadly no folded spiders) my question is how big of a problem can this lead to and how soon should I have this done(fixed)
because ive just put about 500 bucks into it and have verry little money

You can drive it like that. You just have to watch your oil level till you fix it

How much is a "little oil" ... a small glazing of oil on the bottom is ok what you wanna look for is good size pools or ponding of oil... but, like said above if it is leaking you can run it as long as you check the oil once in a while..

Also if it is leaking you will experiance things like jumpy idle and sluggish throttle response..

Awesome guys, sorry for the late response my laptop has decided not to remember my passwords and I've had quite a time logging in because of it. There is a "small glazing" it didn't seem like a lot at all, and yes I've had a jumpy idle its been bothering me it was tolerable before the throttle body cleaning but its kind of wonky now its staying around 600 RPM idling in d but wondering up and down sometimes as high as 900 RPM. I feel like i should mention tho as it just dawned on me the cruise control cable will no longer clip to its notch on the assembly the cable seems longer even tho I thought I had taken care not to tug on them. Now is it common for these cables to pull like that? and how if at all can I adjust them? It seems reasonable to assume that if one had been pulled they all could have I've noticed a small difference in the first to second shift it seems like its slipping some...Thanks again guys

What your saying with the idle could also be a bad or failing throttle position sensor. could also we a weak battery.. Get yourself a multi-meter and put the positive end on the center wire and open the throttle to wide open (with the engine off and key on of course) How many volts do you get? should be about 4v-4.5v when wide open..

When was the last time the trans was serviced? could just need fresh fluid and a band adjustment. also check the adjustment of the TV cable.

I just changed the TPS the trans was flushed in June but the battery could be weak Ill have to get that checked out. That's what I was wondering if the cables got pulled and how to adjust or at least narrow down the potential causes so I can have it done. I will however be looking into the TPS I dont like the non oem part but I had to.

Check your battery cables, make sure there clean ( no corrosion) and tight.. how old is the battery? if its more than say 3-4 years old i would just go ahead and replace it... I have had 3 batteries now over the years that i had tested at autozone, they came back as a good battery on there little computer but where were bad.

not sure on the age of the battery but I am going to check the terminals today, there is no corrosion but they could use some tightening. What would cause the cruse control cable to not stay in place when that started the slippage on the tranny increased leading me to the cables as a possible cause but I am going to check into all likely causes.

I cleaned the battery connection, as well as the terminals, and where the leads go off the hot....no luck there but tomorrow I'm going to check for vacume leaks and some other stuff. Now that I think of it the last time I had the codes read he said there was a voltage issue and that somthing was not putting out the correct voltage but could not say what. What would be the best place to start checking voltages Its not going to be fun but I would rather do it than pay someone to do it.

So today I'm going to check out the truck for vacume leaks and such would have yesterday but it was -10*f with the wind chill and snowing. I seen (yes I know thats not the right word) a post somewhere that says over tightening the tps can cause idle issues and to loosen slightly from side to side to see if thats the case. I do recall a hissing noise I will be on the hunt for that too.

Thank you to everyone on this forum for all the help, I love fixing things when I can and I hate paying people to do them when I cant, its been my experence that most people given the chance will loot, pillage, and or plunder my (or anyones) wallet just because they can.

I went out erlier and checked for any bad hosed loosened the TPS a bit and found something quite disturbing...The stuff on the end of that blade came out of a hose located on the left side of the engine, I'm terrible at remembering these names but its the same hose as the one behind the oil cap but on the left side only this one goes into the barrel underneath the TB insted of the TB its self. It feels like either a really old chewed up gasket or small metal flakes and i wont lie, smells like oil....and on top of that I've got a flat tire too, yay me! ****DERP**** the hose is off the passenger side valve cover...
