Hey guys been searching for an answer but cannot find it. Its been an issue for a few months now but my cruise isn't working. The light on the dash comes on but nothing will happen. Where should I start with this? Its getting on my nerves now. Thanks

It could be anything from a vacuum leak to a bad servo or a bad electrical component/connection.

I would start by getting a copy of the 1998 FSM (if you dont already have it).. then, i would start easy and check that vacuum lines and electrical connections...

check for vacuum leak and your brake switch, if the truck thinks you are on the brakes it turns off the cruise

Check vacuum lines. Especially the passenger side on the firewall

You called it, the vacuum line to the cruise motor was kinked where it attaches in between it and the firewall. It was also almost pulled off the vacuum reservoir in the passenger fender. So I un-kinked it and pushed it back on the reservoir. It also solved something else. Under heavier throttle, going up hill still in 4th, it would drop from dash vents to floor. Now it holds.

I don't know why but this is what went through my head when I got to the end of what you said...
