I was changing my waterpump yesterday and while picking up a toold which had falled through to the ground I found this thing in the dirt.

Anybody know what this is?

 

My finger is to give some indication of size...I know I could use a manicure (spelling).

 

Looking at it, noticing the contact marks towards the middle of the piece and looking at the shape of the whole thing...could it be some sort of pressure controlling pin? Something that opens, closes (moves in and out)? (My luck, this is some VEEEERY important piece which prevents my car from exploding after 30 minutes drive-time and since I don't drive more than 30 minutes daily I have barely avoided a horrible death...over and over).

 

I've never noticed anything like that before

 

I've looked at it a few times and it does not look familiar.

 

I would say it was on the ground to begin with. Never seen anything like that on a Dodge.

 

One was in my driveway too. I think it's space debris.

 

Do you have pics of the ends of it?
