Long Crank causes engine code P0302
I've been keeping up with everyone's information for code 302. I've replace spark plugs with copper ones (proper gap). Code stayed out for a while. Came back, swapped coil pack to T/S path, eventually came back. I'm working on renting a compression tester for #2 cyl. Fuel pump comes on, renting a fuel pressure gauge to check for bleed back pressure. The code originated on a cold day with a long crank. Anytime warm weather hits, it will start right up with no code. Should I start with the compressions, or with the fuel pump?
It would help to know the engine, year, etc about your truck.
I have a long crank on mine sometimes, but it doesn't throw any codes. My long crank is because of the check valve in the fuel pump not holding pressure on the fuel rails after it's off for a while. I usually just turn the key to on, then back to off, then back to run and then start to avoid the long crank.
