The pcv valve to the intake manifold? Usually its carbon build up

I was concerned that something had worked its way inside the engine or else was damaged inside. There's a tick there now sounds like the lifters gets louder as I pick up speed. I didn't consider carbon because it was resonated like, wet and sticky. I'm going to pick up some Seafoam today and put it through the tank and brake booster not the crank case as I can't afford an oil change and I'm concerned about oil leaks after. Wish me luck...

 

you can afford a $12 can of seafoam but not a $20 oil change???

im sorry i dont buy it, even when i was paying for college and not working i was able to afford to change the oil

 

Is there something wrong with you that you feel its ok to talk down to people based on a few posts on a forum? I'm sure you wouldn't take too kindly to people prying into your life with unwarranted accusations and insults, so what makes you feel like my personal finances are any of your concern?

 

I think what the point of the post you quoted was to save you money in the long run not attack your personal finances...

Adding a cleaner like Seafoam is going to knock alot if crap off and then send it running through your engine with the end result being that you will end up with more stuff going wrong and more expensive parts to replace.... I have to agree i would not add the Seafoam till you can afford a oil change, even if its cheapo oil and filter till you can get better stuff.

 

That is a good point old school, and a well put point. I just don't get what the whole "I don't buy it" thing was like I'm up to no good because I don't have $20. There was not even a hint of helpfulness in that post from my monitor I saw callous words and harsh judgement. I'm also sure I said I wouldn't be putting it in the oil, just gas and brake booster how would that affect my oil at all?

 

there was no judgement about your financial situation, just about how much you (apparently dont) care about getting your truck fixed correctly, adding any additive which cleans out crap has the potential to put debris in your oil, even if you arent putting it in. Sucking it through the brake booster will dislodge carbon deposits in the cylinders which can slip past the rings intot he oil, through the gas will clean out the fuel injectors, but will also cause the truck to ru n a hair rich while it is in, the extra unburned fuel and checmical slip past the rings into the oil, these chemicals prematurly break down the oil and is why we recomment changing the oil within a couple hundred miles of doing a seafoam treatment, its that simple

 

Now if that was the problem why not just state the facts to begin with? Instead of snide comments you could have said something about damage to my truck not just some crap about your college days which I don't care about. How about next time you come up with something helpful instead of running your mouth then trying to say "I don't care about my truck." And now are trying to shift the focus from you acting like a spoiled little girl to me obviously just hating my truck. I will ask you again what makes you feel like you can talk down on people just because? Aren't you a mod here? Shouldn't you be held to a higher standard, obviously not because you insult people based on what little you know about them or there situation so go ahead try and justify your BS comments. The reason I was offended to begin with was this "I Don't buy it" whats not to get??? My life and situation have no place being discussed here and for you to speculate is just stupid. To assume we all have money just because you do or did is moronic.
