Default overheating!!!

I replaced my engine temptature sensor, my water pump, i did a coolant flush, i replaced my thermostat, i replaced fan clutch, my bypass hose, all my hose are in good condition i dont experience any leaks, i replaced my radiator cap, i will be replacing my belt and possibly my tensioner, and get myself one of those goodyear gatorback belts (what size do i get for a 5.2l v8 with a/c?) Maybe that will help, took it to firestone they said maybe i could have air pockets, is there a do it yourself way to burp the coolant system does 1999 durangos have a bleed screw?

Unless the belt is slipping so badly that it isn't turning the water pump it shouldn't have any effect. You don't really have to burp the cooling system, just leave the radiator cap off and let it warm up, that should get rid of most of the air, and the rest should go out the expansion tank.

the 5.2 and 5.9 are pretty much self burping systems just fill the overflow tank and drive it, the air will work its way out because the cap is the highest part in the system.

Yeah thats exactly what i was thinking, every day before i drive my durango i squeeze my upper radiator, fill it up to top with coolant then squeeze again and air bubbles will rise out and the radiator will will soak up the remaining coolant, i do this till there aint no more air bubbles then i start the car and go on with my day, i do this everyday before i drive my durango, im just wondering why at times it overheats quicker and turning my heater helps maintain around 195F° but at stops and red lights it slowly rises i cant seem to understand why?

sounds like the issue is that you're not getting enough air through the radiator. Make sure the fan clutch you put on isn't bad. Beyond that maybe when you flushed the coolant it dislodged some debris and plugged part of you radiator.

Invest in a inferred temp gun.. you can puck them up cheap at harbor freight~~> http://www.harborfreight.com/automot...ter-96451.html

Once you have the run it around your radiator and look for hot spots if you find any then replace the radiator...

It sure is an express lane way to a new transmission......

Probably a good idea to replace the radiator with the heater core and fix that leak!... Heater cores only run about $25 online only issue is there a bi*ch to replace because you have to remove the whole dash...
