Me again... 2000 d. sport 2wd 5.2

Any help is greatly appreciated:

My front passenger door is stuck in lock position. The only way it opens is if I pull the inside door handle, and the pulltab thingy comes almost all the way up, but not fully. The door will open, but the pull thingy gets sucked right back down, I cannot pull it up by hand. I tried my key outside the door, but gave up for fear I would break it off. The switch on that door works for all the other doors, but no go on its own lock!

Is there some sort of electrical problem here? in fuse box or the door? or is it mechanical?

 

its mechanical. Sound like you have a bent lock rod or its the locking unit itself. on the side of the door next to yhe unit is the torx screws. Take it out. If nothing is bent. Use wd-40 work the unit. U can replace outnof the salvage yard for pennies.
