I checked my engine light today and the P1740 code came saying I had faults with my torque converter or overdrive solenoid.

I'm just curious if anybody else has had this and what the fix was?

The durango runs fine for the most part. It shifts from park to neutral loudly, all other gears are fine. It does seem to run at higher rpm (around 2rpm) when at about 60mph... I might just be being paronoid though...

Any thoughts?

Apparently both the solenoids went bad and there were pieces of a valve floating around.

Fun stuff

 

It ended up being the downshift valve which needed to be replaced along with the solenoids. With labor it was about $600 cost to have fixed. This was done in March and has run fine since then.
