security beeping
Hi all.
In my 2001 Durango, SLT, I've noticed over the past few days that the security warning light has been beeping on me.
It only happens in the afternoon, and the light doesn't actually stay on.
In the morning it's fine, but on the way home from work...... I'll hear a beep, 5 minutes or so later, sometimes less, it quickly beeps again, and it's taken me a while to catch the light for security come on, and go out more quickly than it comes on.
Any ideas?
Your helps are appreciated.
TYIA.

Well, I finally had to take this to the dealer, and got them to agree to an half hour billing, instead of a full hour.
Turns out that it's an "internal failure of the BCM."
So, I suppose I have two questions....
1- where is the BCM located?
2- can I buy these somewhere as a non-dealer-only item?
I've looked on Rock auto's site (Just heard back from Rock Auto-- no go!), and don't see it, so I emailed them. I've then looked on Pick-n-pull, and see they have two vehicles for my year. So, that's a chance. Of course-- I have no idea where to look, so I'd really appreciate it if someone could answer that question...
Thanks for your helps.
Best.

i believe the bcm is a term used by some for the ctm which is a dealer only item and must be programmed to your trucks options and VIN, also bring your keys if you have remote locks and have them programmed to the new unit
it is located in the drivers side kick panel (the panel next to the e-brake)
