02 SLT AWD 4.7L. The wife just let me know it's making noise! I can hear loud harsh clicking from both driver and passenger sides. Read a post from Hydrashocker about Gear Lash. I have no idea about how to check for that? I have replaced CV axles and Hubs but not on a Dodge. What should I check for first and how? I wanted to be ready for this Saturday armed with some info!

 

I need as much information you can give us. Like is the noise only happens in u-turns or driving at low speeds?

 

You can hear it at low speed. I didn't go very fast so as not to mess it up more if that is possible.
I guess my question would be; Should I get the front end up in the air, put the tranny in neutral, place the AWD switch in neutral and turn the tires by hand to pin point the noise? Would that accomplish anything? Is there another procedure that I should follow? Thanks
