1999 Durango front passenger window stuck down
So I purchased a 1999 Durango last week as a second commuter vehicle. Decent solid 14 year-old vehicle, no leaks, shifts fine, A/C works, just needed a little tlc on the maintenance end of things...This didn't need to be a miracle vehicle, just something solid that would get me from point A to Point B...and the price couldn't be beat at $1200...There were some issues with every power window except the driver side window. The front passenger and the rear two wouldn't close all the way unless I applied power to the switch and gently pushed up on the glass from the outside. No biggie, I thought must be in the master power switch. So I ordered a new one, installed it and still the same issue, so it wasn't the master power switch on the driver's side. This really isn't a big deal as I am really the only one who drives it and as long as they're up and the driver's worked, I would get around to addressing those at a later date and time...
So, I took my boys to the park last Saturday and they wanted to take dad's "new" truck, so we did. On the way home from the park, my oldest wanted his window down to feel the fresh spring air. So I rolled down the front passenger window and to my dismay, the window rolled nearly all the way down then stopped with about 2" of glass still showing. I tried rolling it back up and it wouldn't roll back up at all and when I tried to roll it down the rest of the way, it wouldn't budge. So now my front passenger window is stuck in a position where I can't get it up and it won't go all the way down.
I removed the door panel and tried pushing it up (and down) from inside the door panel while applying power to the switch...nothing. So at this point I just want to be able to disengage it from the regulator so I can close it and jam a 2x4 under it until I can get a new regulator/motor assembly ordered and installed. Yet, with it in the position it is in, I can only access one of the 10mm bolts that clamp the regulator to the glass.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can either manually get the regulator to move so I can get it all the way down to disengage it or with the other issues with the rear windows not rolling up all the way is there something more I need to be looking at that may be causing this? Obviosly power is reaching the windows as they do go up and down and the front passenger did go down in the first place...
Thanks ahead of time...
