Removing inner door handle (driver's side)
SO I bought this 1999 Durango. Solid body, clean title, motor/tranny/electric all good...A/C even blows cold. 190k miles, but hey...it just needs to get me from point A to point B.Friend was moving so I got it as a second runner for $1200...
The one issue was with the inner driver side door handle. They replaced the speakers and in doing so broke the hole the latch rod goes into on the inner door handle. They had a wired-up-jimmy job but that eventually failed as well so the driver's side door only opens from the outside. FUN FUN!
So I ordered a new LH interior door handle. $14 on ebay. Not bad. So after taking the door panel off, I see the handle is held in place by some "melded" screws, is that correct? Are they in fact melded or should those simply wiggle out? I wanted to ask before I break one and can't find any...Any tricks or special tools needed to remove these?
Thanks ahead of time...

Can't say that I've noticed that before, but you should be able to find an answer in the service manuals over in the DIY section. They have detailed instructions with diagrams that should be helpful. Here's the link for you.
