Default Flashing dash/running lights

ok, so I am working on my mothers truck, 2000 4x4 5.9L engine. Did I miss something? Here's the problem...
Well, the truck has been having problems on and off for the last couple of months. It did the "it just stopped running thing" and I managed to fix that issue and was driving it around with no problems.Got in it today to start in and...nothing, literally, no click, no lights, no door chimes, ect. I hooked up my jumper box, thought maybe? And, well, it didn't start, but it did the usual start up routine: dash lights, chime for key in the ignition, dash lights came on...then it happened.. the dash lights started intermittently flashing along with the driving lights, in a set pattern, and it still won't start. Windows work (electric) but the radio doesn't come on. And I sat and watched the volt meter slowly rise (like usual) then drop if I tried to turn the key. I just don't get the rhythmic flashing of the lights???? Is the car set up this way to tell me something particular is wrong?
Thus far I have replaced the alternator, had the battery tested, replaced the alternator relay, made sure the battery connectors are not corroded and are secure.
Short of replacing the battery, any other suggestions? I bought it at AutoZone and they have tested it twice and said that it needed to be charged (which they did), and said it would be fine. Not sure I am trusting that. Any help/suggestions would be great!
Thanks

Since the battery needed to be charged, I'd say your alternator wasn't doing it's job but you have since replaced that. The battery is prolly under warranty, but they opted to charge yours, instead of honoring your warranty. Tell them to swap your battery for you.

I'd agree with the battery being an issue.

Thanks guys! Took the battery back last night and didn't let them charge it for a third time (lol), the manager actually tried to talk me into it, (I hate when management changes) and asked for a new one. Dropped it into the truck and *bam* everything's great, cross my fingers...
