the 4.7 is more than capable of 17mpg STOCK (ask me how i know
)
chips are worse than useless on these trucks, dont waste your money, (tuners work well however are more expensive)
the stock radiator is more than adequate for cooling if you must upgrade as stated dont go more than two row
the drop in k&n can be bought anywhere that sells filter just take a look (mine came from amazon) and then you can put in custom piping to pull in cold air and have a much more reasonably priced CAI
idk if MSD makes coils for the 4.7 but they stock coils are fine, just make sur eyou are using copper core plugs, they burn best in these engines.

I think MSD makes a ignition for this wowo thank you for the Help
and Yes I know what you mean on the 1 row radiator but their are soo many of these durangos that have had heating problems and since i dont know i would want to get a 2 row radiator to make sure it would far more than my station wagon did
OK I see ya i just wanted the smallest * cyclinder Durango Was hoping to find the V6 becuase i really dont Plan to tow with it that Much I have a dodge cummings diesal 2500 that has 225,000 on it still running strong.
Thank you for all the Help I Just sold my Station Wagon Last night.
I just spent $190 getting the Durango Smogged it needed a few Hoses a Gas Cap and some other things.
I talked to my Guy and he said that this motor is not in the 318 Family like you said its a 287. This is a Mecedes Motor when in 2002 and 2003 chrysler had Merged with someone or something like that.
He said its a good Engine their reliable I just wanted a good reliable motor my Audi A6 was a 3.8 V6 and it wasnt the most reliable had over heating probelems.

Well Here Is an Update on this Durango I got Last wednesday I have Only Had this one week as of today.
Not Knowing what type on maintenace the person did on this Durango I went ahead and Put new NGK Plugs in the Durango.
Look what I found On #6 Plug
I tried to get the Spark Plug out and it was so tight i had to use a braker bar to get it out felt like someone before me had cross threaded it and just kept going and didnt care well I got it out and I used a Save a Thread Insert.
I know their not the greatest but it works for now I can Heli coil it when i Need to Change the Plug in 50,000 Miles. or more.
I re threaded the hole with the save a thread tool they Gave me and then I took a Vacume with a small hose and vacumed everything out of the cyclender.
was a tough Job but not my fault someone else screwed it up.

So After I got that In their and fixed the Problem of #6
I also found a Vacume Leak Behinf the throttle Body witch is a Hose That goes from the back of the TB to the Vent of the Oil Fill Cap I dont know what it is for but it was $35 at the dealer they wouldnt just sell me the 90 degre that was cracked had to be the entire hose of course lol.
So I am waiting on that Part to Come Back And I cleaned the throttle Boddy really good Pulled it off put it in a Pan of Gas and Cleaned it up with a toothe Brush Oh i cant wait untill I get this Back together and run it.
I also Put a Cb and A CB antenna in the center of the Roof that was a tough Job too Had to Drop the Liner down on one side of the Durango and get my hands in their to get the coax and stuff it was a clean install though.
Took the Ladder Rack Off too and saved them in the rafters i didnt want it to interfeer with my CB SWR
The Siro 5000 is an Awsome antenna I Already HAved Talked to North Carolina on a barefoot radio Havent even installed the Linear Yet.
Guess you can clearly See I am a Serious CB operator to HAve a Durango and 3 days Later i Drilled a hole lol.

i have only one question for you? how do you inted to get 50k miles out of copper core plugs?? and if you put anything besides copper core plugs into it expect to have problems caused by them shortly
I Just Inteneded To Use the Plugs That the dealer and the Book tell me to put in their and my mechanic also told me to Put NGK he said they should Last longer than Champion Spark Plugs.
Thank you for Replying I am still working the Bugs out The Durango Just Hit a P4040 Code witch Usuelly Means EGR Valve but i cant seam to find it.
