Default 3" suspension lift found?

Hey all, bought a '99 Durango 4x4 with the 5.2 recently. I had been planning on doing the torsion bar/shackle lift but I saw something interesting at the pull-a-part place today. I was getting a trailer hitch off a '98 model when I got to looking at the suspension on it. I notice it has some sort of lift kit on it! The front lift parts are red in color. The rear appears to have longer shackles as well as a bracket that extends the pivot eye on the front of the rear leaf. It also is equipped with Rancho 5000 shocks. I asked the junkyard dude what he'd sell the kit for. 200 bucks! I wish I would have taken pictures of it but I didn't think of it at the time. Am I looking at a Rancho 3" lift kit here? Does anybody know where to get any info at all on this kit? I haven't had any luck searching the web. I would love to buy this stuff and put it on my Rango. I just want to find out all I can before I drop the money and time removing all this stuff.
Any help or input at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jeremy

Hi i just joined dodge forum and i am having trouble trying to get an answer for my problem. Can someone please help? I disassembled my front suspension to change my lower balljoint. I totally forgot to mark the location for the torsion bar key before i took it off. Can anyone tell me where it should be put on?

sounds like you are looking at the same Rancho lift kit that my 98 Durango has. this was on my truck when I purchased it, so I do not have any install info. but if you need pictures of any areas i can get those to you. could you tell me the model or product nbr of the R5000 shocks that are on that rig? Good luck.

Cool. Does your truck ride pretty nice? I'm probably going to snag it. Sounds like a fun project. I'll see if I can't find any numbers on those shocks for ya.

it rides and handles unbelievably nice on the roads/highways through the mountains. especially considering its size/weight and intended usage. never had it off road and the tires are 31" highway tires. but on the road it surprised me how un-truck like it rides and how well it keeps its line when driving through the mountains. sorry I have no off road feedback. these days I am doing more mtn biking than 4 wheeling.

That's great! Do you know if you're running the stock rims? I read somewhere that you had to run off set rims for some reason with these lifts

Okay. Found some numbers off those Rancho 5000 shocks.
Front: RS5136
Rear: RS5010
I found some numbers off the rear shackle. It is in fact a Rancho lift. I was able to find an installation manual online. It says this lift won't work with the stock 15" rims. Are your rims 15's or 16's?
