1998 durango questions
Hello all, im new, so be gentle please.
Wife and i recently purchased a 1998 dodge durango with the 5.2 318v8 motor. previous owner purchased it at auction, and we got a good deal on it too say the least. the thing is, being as we dont know a lot about the history of it, ie, what oils were used etc, is there any recommendations as too what might work best in the next oil change as far as weight of oil, high mileage oil vs regular oil, and so on? its been well driven with just over 230k miles on it, has plenty of power in it still and transmission shifts good. also, anyone ever used Engine restore and lubricant or any of the other additives too any positive degree. the durango isnt driven much, maybe 2 too 3 times a week, mostly short trips with the occasional cruise on the weekend about two too three times a month. thanks for all the help in advance! we live in Virginia as well, gets cold in winter and hot in the summer with alot of humidity, dont know if that makes a huge difference as too oils, but thought i would add that...
