2001 Dodge durango running bad. Help
Hi guys. I had been searching for a this issue for a while and i would like to get some help with my questions as i cannot find any information on this.
i have a 01 durango slt. 4wd. I have had the truck for about 3-4years now and ever since i got it the front end is a bit bouncy when you go over big bumps on the road. it feels like the shocks bottom out and i think the lower control arms hit the body mount (like that rubber stopper on the frame) only happens if i go over big bumps on the road. Just wondering what can i do to overcome this issue.
i have replaced all front end suspension parts. tie rods(inner outer) upper lower ball joints. so everything is tight. replaced the shocks about two years ago with monroe oe compatible shock( cannot remember the name ontop of my head)
my thought was could it be the shocks are too soft cannot handle the weight of my truck? i would like to go for new shocks so if i put a stiffer shock would i be able to overcome the issue of it bottoms out? if i wanna go for a stiffer shock on a bujet what would be your recommendation? i was thinking Monroe reflex, rancho 5000s, kyb monomax, i dont think i can afford a set of bilsteins i run highways once in a while i will just do a very light offroad run nothing crazy. i dont mind a stiffer suspension dont expect this to run like a bmw lol. i like the truck feeling .
your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Sid
