ok so my durango has p0441 code for like 2 months i didn't pay much attention to it but this is the weird part, the engine light was and acting normal, but yesterday i start my car the engine light was gone, i turn off vehicle and to the key ignition computer scan and it showed the code and engine light didn't clear when u turn the key half way, but when u start the car engine light goes off.!!!! WTF !! start car = engine light off , check code = P0441+engine light comes on. any idea wtf is going on???

 

if you are sitting w/ the key on and the engine off the CEL will be ON this is by default

if the light has gone out on its own that means the issue has gone away, mine threw the evap leak code every spring and fall (when the temperature would swing) and it would always go away again on its own

 

no, when u turn key half way every light comes on but they usally start disappearing but engine light stays on. also when i check code i still have p0441 but when i start engine the engine light goes away. i shut off check code agn its still there wtf wierd ****

 

if you have the key ON and the engine is OFF the CEL will stay on, once you start the car it should go off like all the other lights, this is the way its designed to work (turn the key to on (NOT START) all the idiot lights come on and slowly click off, EXCEPT the CEL, this will stay on until you start the car)
