Started replacing my old suspension bushings
Finally started changing my old bushings on Friday. So far I just did the upper control arms since they were in the worst shape, and still have the lower control arms and sway bars to go. The difference in steering, ride, and lack of creaking with just the uppers so far is pretty noticeable, which isn't really surprising considering the state the old ones were in.
New Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings
Old bushings
Passenger's side sleeves and bushings came out with a puller (my grandpap fabricated a special puller since all the normal ones we had were too big to work)...
...the driver's side ones didn't want to come out even with a puller, so they took a good bit of attacking with a hammer and chisel.
The inner sleeve on the driver's side was rusted pretty badly.
New sleeves in
I forgot to take a picture of the new bushings installed, but I'll get one later. I'll probably end up doing the lower control arms and sway bar bushings sometime this week.
