my 2001 durango starts but dies at idle in morning
I am new to this so i dont even know if i will be able to get a reply if anyone sends one! here goes, I have a 2001 durango that will start right up in the morning but then dies while it is idling. I cant keep it running long enough to drive it, but only in the morning. after about 9:30 am it will start andrun fine. I have taken it to have the computer run a check on it but there are no codes and they tell me there is nothing wrong with it! I dont know what to do!!
For starters, have the battery "load tested" at one of the auto parts stores. Is it the original? Are the battery cables squeeky clean and tight at both ends?
Also go down to NAPA or CarQuest and ask for a can of SeaFoam and the next time you fill your gas tank put the whole can in and continue on your way. Truck may buck a little as it cleans but that will go away. The last can I used in my car made a great improvement even though is bucked for about 5 miles. This is good stuff and will remove crud and water from the fuel system. About $6 per can

Also check to see if the EGR valve is sticking open.
