crank position sensor
Durango 02, we changed the crank position sensor, as per OBD reader. it was stalling and ultimately would not run before the diagnosis.
Changed the CPS and now wont start and odometer flashes and then displays "no bus"
any ideas?
Thanx in advance

When you install a CPS you need to ensure the Negative terminal is removed from the battery and isolated.
1. You could have burned up the new CPS.
2. You should remove and reinsert the PCM as you may of had a bad connection or corrosion. Again remove the Neg terminal. When you do this turn on the head lights and press the brake light for 30 seconds to ensure full depletion of any stored power anywhere in the system. Plug everything back in and replace the Neg cable. Turn the key to start and wait a few seconds for everything to power back up. Start the truck and don't hit the throttle! If it dies that's ok, she should run rough. Run her for about 12 seconds the shut if off unless it already is off. Start again and drive normally.
It can take 12 starts and 100 miles or so to reset everything. Good luck!

No idea on the no_bus issue.
However.. I replaced my CPS last month (what a royal PITA to get that out. Sucker snapped in half and took two people and a wire rope to pull until it came out) and I didn't disconnect the battery.
Truck ran fine after that. So I wouldn't let the removing negative cable bother you too much.
