Is there anyone besides the dealer that can do this?
Id like to put a used one in the D. Looking to get the info switched over.

Currently if i put it in the truck i can only run the truck for 2 seconds. Seems like the immobilizer is kicking in. Hoping that a flash will stop that.

Also curious, if i have to take it to the dealer for the flash do they need the truck there with it or can it be done outside of the truck??

 

Most dealers wont do it unless you take the truck in... you email them your VIN and they send you it pre-programed...

 

so will the dealer flash a PCM that i bring them? or more likely try to push their own part??
i already have about 4 used computers kept pulling them whenever i took an engine from a truck to swap in.

honestly i could care less about mileage and vin being in the computer. Im more concerned with the security issue. I assume there is something within the flashing process that will match the trucks security system with the new PCM...or is it the VIN that does this?
