Cooling system woes! :(
I have not been on the forum here in a while but I still have my baby! Question for you guys...today I am in the McDonalds drive-thru....and I got the A/C on. Hot day here in NC and all...my temp gauge looks fine..maybe just a little past the half-way mark...but I start smelling coolant. Well I get it home and there is a slow drip of coolant on the ground, looks like right underneath the radiator.
I pop the hood and start looking around..the truck never overheated...and it was not steaming hot or anything....my upper hose and lower radiator hose looked fine...no wet spots...yet there is a puddle of coolant down below the radiator you know in the rubber bottom piece....radiator leaking? again the hoses look fine and I cannot see a source of the leak from above...yet when I get under the truck coolant is on the very bottom of the front valance/bumper...right under the radiator...I looked in the overflow bottle and it had no coolant. So I added some anti-freeze. Took it for another drive, came back and it is still leaking. Sorry about the long post...what do you guys think? Hole or something in my radiator? It's an 02 with the 4.7.....I guess after 115,000 miles maybe it's time for a new one?

No, it's not coming from there....besides I had that part replaced not that long ago...again it just seems to be coming from the radiator itself...maybe a hole in my radiator or something...I will just have to take it in to get looked at..
We have the same year and model. Around the same mileage as yours, I had to replace the radiator. I suggest replacing yours as well. While you are doing it, I'd go to the dealer too and get a replacement upper radiator hose. (the one with the cap on it)

Thanks SmokinJoe...yeah the upper hose with the cap is what I had replaced not that long ago. Since you had the same deal I think it's just time to put a new radiator in it...still love my truck..had it since it was new in 02...and it has NEVER let me down....on the side of the road or anything....just goes to show you take care of a vehicle over the long-haul and it pays you back.
