I have a 2002 Dodge Durango 4.7 with a 244 electric transfer case. Would it be possible to swap it out with either a 233 or 244 lever activated transfer case? Im not sure which one it is but it is out of a 2000 5.9 Durango. Basically I was told if it was compatible i could have it for nothing. I am asking because the transfer case is going bad so Im running without a front drive or prop shaft at the moment. Any help would be much appreciated.

If its a lever style its a 231 or 242. If you do that you have to cut a hole in your floor and a center counsel from a 98-99 to match it. Then get all your shift linkages put in. I would just get another 244, not worth the hassle.
