DCP (Duty cycle evap can purge sol issues)
I am requesting assistance diagnosing a problem with the DCP.
The Durango is a 2000 Sport 4.7 engine and 4 WD.
A computer code suggested a problem with either the DCP or Gas Cap.
After installing a vacuum gauge in the Evap Can line to the DCP, and have the engine at operating temp, Per the manual description, I noticed the DCP opened and allowed a closedloop operation which constantly pulsated the DCP (very little vacuum registered on the gauge)
I compared this finding to my 2002 Sport Durango 4.7 Engine also 4WD and the DCP on the 2002 engine pulsated for a few seconds then stopped / then restarted after about 30 to 45 seconds.
Questions;
Is the PCP to be constantly pulsated on the 2000 4.7 engine?
If not, then does the engine have a possible problemwith the PCP (Power Control Mod)?
