285/70/r16 question
Was wondering if a 285/70 sized tire in the stock 16 inch rim fit on my Durango? I figure some inner fender trimming will need to be done, but my biggest concern is will I have to crank the torsion bars to lift the nose a little? The rides hard enough as it is (new shocks) and I don't wanna make it any harder. Will just go with a 265/70 if the 285 won't fit without lifting the nose a bit.
I have 265/75/16 on my durango. They seem to fit perfectly. They also come in at 32.5". Per dodge, they don't recomend anything over 33" anyway. If you know suspension parts you'd know why..
Also what shocks did you get? I got Monroe reflex shocks and mine are a hard ride too. Corners great tho. But the 2012 ram crew 4x4 shouldn't be softer than my durango. But I still love me durango

I have 265/70/r16's on mine right now, just looking for a little bit wider tire and little bit taller tire, nothing extravagant. If you have 265/75's on a 285/70 should fit with a little inner fender trimming, I figure. Now just to find a place that sells good tires for a cheaper price.
I have the same shocks as you, and find it too stiff of a ride. It was starting to slowly work in but now winter is almost here and they're getting stiff again because of the cold. But yea, corners amazing. Nice and tight, next to no body roll in most cases. I have the yellow painted Monroe Reflex shocks on my 93 Dakota and they ride so much softer, even from brand new, than my silver painted ones on the Durango. Not sure if the paint color of the Monroe shock makes a difference, but they definitely feel different. Dakota corners amazing with those shocks as well
