Have 2002 Durango 4.7 45RFE.Vehicle still running despite a buffet of tranny issues,shifting hard into 3rd,popping out of gear when shifting to 3rd,sometimes when you go to take off from a stop it will clunk into gear as if it is not engaged into first all the way.And the year and a half it takes to go into gear from park to drive (3-4 seconds really).The thing is that my inova 3160 scanner wont link with tranny and despite that shouldnt the trans be sending codes to the PCU?No chk engine light for either the trans or PCU.Any ideas please?Could this be a simple torque converter problem?

 

Have you done the basics, check fluid level, basic tranny service? I doubt its the TC

 

yes on the basics,fluid chng every 30000.With everything the trans is doing seems like i should get a code for something.
