Hi everyone, I have an 01 durango 4.7, 4x4. 115,000 miles. Recently it has developed a bad shake everytime I take my foot off the gas, such as coming up to a stop sign. If my foot is on the gas, there is zero shake. I replaced the driveshaft U-joints less than a year ago and they are still tight, and I jacked up the front end and looked for play in the suspension, checked wheel bearings, etc. All the tires are at proper pressure, and I swapped the fronts to back, to no avail. My next logical thing would be front CV joints. The boots are not torn and are intact. Put a vicegrip on each half shaft and both sides seem tight, no play. It doesn't matter what gear the truck is in, so I'm fairly certain it's not the tranny. All the fluids are where they should be. So my obvious question is, could a CV joint be going and I just don't realize it? How do I proceed with diagnosis so I can narrow it down and get it pinpointed? Anyone else have this issue?
