Durango stalls
So it got a colder than it has been recently here, about 15 degrees. I went to warm up the Durango to take the little ones to an appointment. Started fine, idled fine. After it idled for about five to ten minutes, we went to take off and when I put it in gear and tried to take off, it stalled out. I use the word stall instead of died because it almost acted like a manual when they stall from dumping the clutch on accident or whatever. It fired right back up, still idled fine. It happened again, started it, and this time I took off and was on my way no problem.
I should mention that it took forever to warm up, and never really warmed up all the way. I think I have a thermostat problem, but I can't see how it's related.
Also, I was trying to maneuver tightly around another car and trailer while backing out, so I had the wheels at lock, so it was almost liked it was binding up, and putting too much load on the motor at an idle, and it stalled out. I'm assuming this shouldn't happen with an automatic. I didn't "feel" a bind, but that's almost how it was acting.
Anyone have any insight?
