Warm Idle issue...
Aight guys/gals - We love our 1st Gen Durangos. I have a 2001 4.7 being customized for off road. She has a 2000 5.9 R/T. Hers is the one with the problem this time.
She drove to bank all of 3 miles. Went inside for 15-20min. When she came out it would start but not idle. I had to come get her. I drove it home and for the first mile did the 2 foot thing gas and brake. I don't recommend to anyone unless you know what your doing.
By the time it got home it was idling fine. No temp difference on the engine. Now a day later I went out and it started right up - dead cold - and without an issue.
So what we had was it would not hold an idle. It might feel a little rough but hard for me to say as I drive a 4.7 and it idles smoother anyway. I think it is idling fine though - RPM's are 900 when cold and not bouncing. I was going to let it idle up to warm and see if I could get the issue to happen again - we will see on that.
I don't want her stuck at some store when I am across town at work. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.
Thanks everyone!
