Electrical problems

Hello,
First time posting. About a year ago, my 99 durango had a problem with the turn signals not working. I replaced the flasher (green box) under the steering wheel. That worked great. I have probelms with the right front passenger window not working, then working again. The Radio and clock lose the green light and then go back on again and again. Last spring I replaced the battery after it just would not start. Soon after that the turn signals went out again. This time it was a fuse under the hood. I have also not been able to use the remote door opener, even with fresh batteries. Today I drove home, went back to drive again and it was dead. no power to anything and my hood latch will not pull (it looks like it is stuck in the 'out' position') so I can't get under the hood. There is an electrical 'smell' but I did't find any blown fuses in the dash. This has got to be some electrical problem I have not fully solved. Any ideas? I do have an after market trailer hitch.
Thanks for helping.
