So yea if your willing to do some work then yes. Swapping transmissions is no small task anyways, which you were already planning on doing.

If you know what you're doing it's doable in a day, but I'd leave yourself at least an entire weekend just in case.

If the body is in better shape than your current truck then i would personally buy the other truck and swap in your transmission even if you have to do a plenum and a decent tune up on the engine..

By swapping your good transmission, doing a little engine work and either parting out or recycling the metal of your old truck i would be willing to bet you can come away with a nice truck and make enough money to either break even or come out ahead a few bucks...

Also, ask yourself this..... with the cost of the truck $850 plus a plenum $120 and a tune up $100 where else are you gonna get a good running D for roughly $1,100? not to mention you still have another to scrap/part out.

Drugs are never the answer unless you got them bricks to pull.

...This is exactly what I was thinking, thanks for the (better) math. This will all work out for me,,but my wife say she rather pay a car note for something better

I didnt argue with her, I just said it'll be our last choice to do. GRRRRR! I just wanna get to start my 96 Ram project...

Thanks guys
