I did a dummy (not my first). Years ago I replaced the black dial mask plate in the dash with white. Now 10 yrs later, I decided the white was hard to see on an occasional dusk lighting situation (old eyes?). So..., not being able to find a new stock mask, I bought a full stock cluster for $25 shipped on ebay. I just swapped in the whole cluster.

Two things bad... 1) Apparently the odometer data is in the cluster, so my D picked up 20k miles in 20 minutes. 2) Turns out that with my sunglasses in normal day driving (and in New Mexico, I always need sunglasses), and after looking at a white dash for 10+ years, the black faces are nearly impossible for my old eyes to see in regular daylight.

So, tomorrow I'll put back my old cluster with the right mileage and white faces. Anyone need a gauge cluster for really cheap?
