Default tcm part #

I need to know about the part #'s for TCM. I have a part # (56041905AD)and today i went to pull a part and the one i found the # towards the end was different (don't remember the #'s and letters). It was on a 2000 Jeep and Durango is a 2001. I did get a factory cd radio and rear shocks for the hatch. The current radio is a cass. thanks

The 99-04 Grand Cherokees used a different tcm than the Durangos because there's were programmed to use all 5 of the 45rfe's (technically a 545rfe when using all 5 gears, but identical to the 45rfe) gear ratios instead of just 4 in the Durango. It's actually pretty common for people with 01-02 Durangos with the 4.7 to get the tcm from a Grand Cherokee to get the extra gear in their Durango. You'll have to look up exactly which years the Grand Cherokee tcm was compatible with the Durango's.

as long as the numbers match up you are fine, the two letters on the end (AD) are manufacturer codes, it tells dodge who made it for them nothing more

You want the 1905AD one. Thats 5th gear programing.

I average about 22mpg at 70 with my jeep upgrade.

5th kicks in at 55mph
