So I ended up driving around in the rain tonight, and I have to say I'm very happy with how these new tires performed. They hung on where the old goodyears would have easily spun. I didn't go flooring it, but I gave it more gas than I know I should have pulling out from a stop a couple times and the most I got from them was a very slight bit of slip on the stop line on the ground. It seems like they drive as good in the wet as the goodyears did in the dry.
