Question 2002 Durango 4x4 LIFT KIT Question

I recently came across a 6.5" suspension lift kit for my 02 Durango 5.9 SLT. My question is what are, if any, modifications I will have to make? Any and all feedback is appreciated, especially from anybody that has experience in the matter. Thanks

What lift size do the off-road trails you plan to go to in your area require?

What all comes with the kit? That will narrow down the changes YOU need to make, as the kit may come with modified parts needed.

Got a link?

Is this kit truly all suspension or is it a combination of suspension and body lift?

I've not seen a "kit" for a 2002. Got a link or description.

Here's the link http://www.airbagit.com/1999-2003-DO...it6-du0003.htm

And it's an all-suspension lift, no body, and no bags. Thanks

From the looks of it, it has the major things to shift "down" your suspension components (i.e leaf springs brackets, torsion keys 'box", drop links are longer) are "bolt on".

Of course there are the minor parts you need to account for like brake lines, shocks, axle/pig angle, driveshaft lengths, or anything else that goes from the body the wheels/axles.

I also heard I would need a steering column extension. I had a shop quote $900 for the install. Not bad, but thats a total of over $3000 for a 6.5" lift, steep

DO NOT USE THIS KIT. Check out in the description how it says 4" through 10" suspension lifts provided by Truckinsuspension.com. I have heard bad things about those kits. Type that in and it leads you directly back to the Airbagit.com site. Do a quick google search and you will find a lot of horror stories, just check out this thread on a different site http://www.dodgedakota.net/boards/off/782-3.html. I too found this company a while back and did a little research. They keep changing their name and website so no one can get a hold of them and they don't answer the phone to take care of warantee stuff. Sorry to rain on your parade but I wanted to give you a heads up.

And on top of that you are going to want bigger wheels to complete the look. However the strength of the differentials are gonna limit your options.

There are threads on this forum discussing that topic, so look around. I am not sure you can go above 35", I run a 33". then again not everyone does their wheel to "fill the wells". I have lots of "big rims and small wall tires" on trucks these days.

No rain on a parade when its helpful info.

As for wheels and tires, mine are already rubbing there so big. Any word on the Performance Accessories 3" body lift? What're some opinions on mixing 3" body lifts with 3" suspension lift?
