Have your alternator tested, they can do it at Auto Zone or others while it is on the vehicle outside in the parking lot. A lot of the time when a battery or alternator goes out it actually creates strain on the system taking each other out. Check the connections at the alternator as well.

Actually I don't think it's coincidence, the battery sensor went out and over charged your battery causing the failure would be my best guess.

There is a manual toward the bottom here for the 2002, if you look into section 8W it should lead you to find your schematics. It's not exact, but it's close enough to what you will need because it's a year off your 2003: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...wers-faqs.html

Okay, the problem still exists, I finally had a chance to pull the alternator and had that tested. That tested good ... ran it a few times and states it tests good. The problem is intermittent however so I am wondering how reliable that testing is ... I picked up a new alternator while I was there, deciding whether or not to put it in ... what's another 130 bucks at this stage .... but still hesitant ...

I personally would install the new alternator for a few reasons. First being that i have had a few batteries and alternators test "good" and turned out bad over the years. Second you will know its a good one (even thou there is a small chance new parts can be bad). Third, IF the battery temp sensor was the root of the issue, who knows what you could have fried in the process of finding the culprit.. just my

Well, I finally replaced the Alternator this past weekend. So far, the Battery Temp Sensor, the Battery, the Alternator, the PCM and a Cam Shaft Position Sensor. Still, having some "OverVolting" occurring. Not nearly as much or as bad, however, lights in the dash and the headlights occasionally get brighter along with a few occurrences of the Radio squelching and going out. Have checked the Ground Spots I have located, only two or three of them, not sure if there are more or not.

Hydrashocker - you made a note "There is a manual toward the bottom here for the 2002, if you look into section 8W it should lead you to find your schematics. It's not exact, but it's close enough to what you will need because it's a year off your 2003: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen-...wers-faqs.html" I went there, and the manual is unavailable or page does not exist.

Does anyone have the 8W section available from the Durango Service Manual?

Does anyone have any other thoughts of where to look or go from here?

Thank you
