I'm a newbie to posting on forms so please understand if i make any mistakes.I have an issue with my factory radio in a 2001 dodge durango doesn't work in the accessory position.what can possibly be some reasons for this? I just purchased this vehicle and don't know the history of any changes that may have been made to cause this condition.radio works fine with the ignition in the on position and as far as i can tell i don't think anything has been altered.Any help is appreciated.

 

Do the power windows work with the key in the Acc position. They should. If not too, it's not a radio problem.

 

I don't think the radio works with key in the acc. position and the windows shouldn't work either. The key has to be in the on position. At least that's the way our 2000 Durango works.

 

My radio and lighter socket work in the acc position, that's the whole point of the position. Windows only work in on position.

 

Windows and radio work on my 01 in acc position.

 

The OP has an '01 too. Now we have to wait to see if he ever decides to make his 2nd ever post to the forum.

 

Just rechecked and only our radio works with key in acc. position.
Key must be on for windows to operate. 2000 Durango.
