Unhappy Oil light is back.

We got this low mileage (79k) 1998 Durango for my parents. I posted a while back, july I believe about the oil pressure gauge dropping to zero and the light coming on when coming to a stop and then everything going back to normal a second later. I replaced the pressure sensor at the time and it seemed to fix the problem but now it has come back. The rig now has about 84k and is coming in for an oil change tomorrow. Is there something else I can look at? I find it hard to believe that sensor has gone bad already.

If the oil level isn't low or anything you might need to drop the pan and take a look at the pickup screen.

I neglected to check the level before I drained it. It doesn't leak at all or appear to be burning anything. I changed the oil, added 5 quarts of 10-30 and took it for a 20 minute drive. I couldn't get the problem to duplicate itself. My mother said it had been happening a lot...except when I drive it apparently. I will have her keep me updated. I was wondering if maybe a bit of debris is temporarily blocking the sensor. This rig has really low miles for the year so it must have sat a lot. How difficult is it to remove the oil pan on one of these things? Can't hurt to prepare just in case.

Haven't tried it myself, but I hear you have to partially drop the front axle and remove an engine mount.

Nothing has happened since the oil change, I assume if something was blocking the sensor it got flushed out or maybe the old oil was getting to thin.
