Default Issue noise with 1998 Dodge Durango V8 - 5.2

Hi all,
I've been lurking for a couple of months as I was looking to buy a Dodge Durango.
I bought a 1998 Durango, v8, 5.2 - 90,000 miles - Very clean, but needed some work, that I was going to do myself.
I've had it for a couple of weeks, got it for a good price ($1900), at least I thought so at the time.
As I've been driving it a little bit and some issues arose which were not present when I bought the car, though, I expect this when buying a used car.
Anyway, I provided a link for a video and tell me if anyone can make heads or tails of the sound coming from the alternator/AC area.
Basically if anyone has ever welded, it sounds like the noise a welder makes. When revving the engine the sound increases.

The video can be located at this link...

Thanks for reading/viewing and anyone's input.

Dwayne

Use a long handled screw driver or broom handle against your ear and try and tell where the noise is coming from by carefully placing the other end on the suspected sources of the sound.

Could be a idler or tensioner pulley bearing. You can use a mechanics stethoscope or a screw driver to isolate it like that_guy states.

Thanks guys, I'll give that a try and report when I figure it out, I've never really heard a noise like this one before.
