If I had to guess I'd say it got spilled on it somehow. Clean it and the plug that goes into it out.

It's not unheard of for a fluid pressure switch or temp switch to rupture and push oil up the harness. If you peel back the wiring cover and don't see any residue, then it's likely just a spill.

harness is clean and dry, outside of pcm is clean and dry as well, it is leaking from the pcm. new computer is on the way, going to have dealer reflash it. will let you know what happens

You could try to clean it out but I'm afraid it is flux from the inside board. If there was a short the heat melts it and the flux runs out, looks just like that. Kind of brownish type oil.

I will agree with you on replacing the PCM. Also check all your grounds for good measure.

I was wondering if it could be something like that, but I didn't think it would be that much. Definitely sounds like a new PCM is in your future.

We had a member a while ago take his apart for the very same reason just to see inside, yes there is enough to do that.

Old thread but have info to add.
that brown fluid is power steering fluid. The high pressure switch can start leaking into the wire and wicks all the way back to the pcm
