Default lost power steering

Yesterday My 2001 durango R/T got stuck in the snow. It was high centered. Finally got it out after about ten minutes, drove it appox. 50 feet and lost all power steering. Any help would be appricated.

Well have you looked at it to see if you ripped a PS line or hose? leaking fluid? or the rack is leaking? serpentine belt came off? Anything? There are some obvious things you can do/check on your own.

No fluid leaks and the belt is fine. Is there a way to tell if the P/S pump is working?

Thanks.

Yes, if you have power steering, the pump is working...lol....how's the fluid level? Could you have packed snow all in around the wheelwells/hubs/front suspension and its making turning difficult, seeming like its the power steering?

Check for any disconnected wires.

hint: if you try to flush the pump unit DO NOT use any solvent, or cleaner type fluids. only use oil made for the unit. solvent ect has no lubrication ability. the pump WILL wipe out.
