2001 Durango with Timing Chain Slap
So I have this 2001 Durango with 4.7L.
My issue is I have timing chain lash. The chain has been replaced (All 3) All new Guides, New Tensioners Twice now.
It seemed like I had it all sounding good but after it was all put back together after a few minutes of running I could hear the lash again.
It appears to be the right side secondary chain where the lash comes back.
I have also noticed high oil pressure. The pressure has been high since I have had it as I just bought it and it had this lash noise.
The guy I bought it from said when he got it, it had blown head gaskets so he did those and the timing chain.
I am wondering if the high oil pressure could be because of something clogging the oil ports in turn not allowing enough oil pressure to get to the tensioner which could cause it to not extender far enough. I know oil is getting to the tensioner as I saw it with my own eyes but maybe its not enough.
I'm not to excited about pulling this apart again. I replaced the tensioners w/ OEM ones also.
Does that logic make any since?
