Default check open recalls

Hey Everyone,

Anyone know a site I can check for recalls?
My blower motor has fried and melted the resistor harness 3 times now. I finally figured out it was the actual motor and not the resisitor that was causing the problem, but, it seems to be widespread. Went to two differnet scrap yards and out of 12 differnet Durangos/Dakotas, I was only able to get two pigtails. All the others were in the same shape...melted resistor harness due to overpower coming off of the blower motor.
I'm just wondering if this was ever a recall.
2001 Dodge Durango R/T 4.7L 2WD

Thanks...

there was no recall for the fan resistor on these trucks, however you can also check directly with dodge for recalls www.dodge.com/owners

Your blower motor is shot. The windings inside the motor is shorted changing the resistance of the motor causing the resistor pack to keep blowing and melting wires. I know your thinking it cant be the motor because it still seems to work but until you change out the motor you will have no joy.

thanks, I finally figured out it was the motor that was the main issue. I even took the motor out and wiried it straight to another car battery, it spun fine...so I thought ya it isn't the motor. But after testing it with a multimeter, it was way overpowered. I already replaced the motor, pigtail, and resistor. I was just wondering about the recall because it looks pretty dangerous down there to be melting plastic like that.

Thanks again guys
