Default Where to buy fuel pump

Ok , I went ahead and dropped the tank and pulled the pump on that 03, 4.7 Durango . My question is are the ones at , say maybe Auto Zone , good to go back with or should it be a dealer item ? I for sure don`t want to do this again . And is there a brand to stay away from or a brand to go with that's better than the others ? Thanks guys .

When I had mine replaced, I was told to stay away from Airtex. It was the cheapest in my area and I was told that they aren't made well.

If you can wait a couple days for delivery get it from rockauto. They have many to choose from, personally I like Delphi, Bosh, Denso and of course Mopar as good premium brands. I would recommend staying as far away from autozone parts as possible. I used to buy their parts but one too many times I had to do jobs a second time because of part failure. If you don't have time to wait for it and need it now Napa is solid, not the cheapest but I would recommend spending a little extra when it comes to a fuel pump.

Yeah, you definitely want a decent pump, because I don't imagine you want to have to drop the tank a second time.

I have a NAPA in my 97 Dak that I replaced in 2008. It's still golden. I can't tell you honestly that the Mopar ones are any better.

Well , I couldn`t wait a few days to get one from Rock auto ( I could have but my wife said get it fixed ) so I got a Delphi here from auto store and it is back on the road . I may have paid a little more but the wife is happy , which means I am again free to do the things I like , so I guess all is good .

Had to drop mine 4 times within 2 Months. I finally got a good fuel pump from EBAY. Want a big deal to drop the tank, but it makes the job pretty difficult when the tank is full.
