Default shuts off randomly

I have a 1999 Durango 5.9 . I have replaced the starter and crankshaft position sense. It keeps shutting off about 15 mintues after running. And about 5 mintues later it will start right back up. I took it to the dealer ship and they said it was my wiring from my train horn causing it to shut off and that the exhaust didn't have enough back pressure because I cut it be for the Cadillac converter . So I fixed those things and yet it still turns off on me. Has anyone had this problem? Please help

That sounds similar to what my crank sensor did when it went bad. Since you replaced that it could be the computer or an ignition coil maybe. Possibly the cam pickup in the distributor, but those things don't fail often.

As for exhaust back pressure and wiring, those guys that told you that are a bunch of dumbasses to put it nicely.

I bought the cam shaft sensor today I planned on putting it on tomorrow . And I think they took advantage of me because I'm a girl in all honesty. 783 dollars later.

Dealerships are jagoffs no matter who you are usually.

Wait what cost $783? Well anyway That indeed sounds like when my crank sensor went out. I think my crank sensor had a heat related issue as if I let it cool down for 10 minutes it would run for another 15. I just lost my coil, but it died completely all at once.

For them to fix my wiring was 783 dollars , they couldn't put my starter or crankshaft sensor on because it won't "mopar product"
