Default What the heck did I do?--Heater hoses

'02 5.9L
So... a while back I had a bad coolant leak from the point where one of the coolant hoses runs to the rear of the vehicle for rear heat. I cut off the hose and plugged it because I could not afford the OEM Y molded hose at the time.

I cant exactly remember but I think I just ran a new hose from the little pump to the firewall.

Well, is starting leaking again at my plug and I decided to try again and see if I could find that hose for cheap. I got lucky on ebay and got one shipped for $20. Part number 55056060AC

Here's the thing. I cant figure out which end of this hose goes where. I thought that red goes to firewall, yellow goes to rear of vehicle and blue goes to little pump but the lengths are all wrong. The blue length doesnt reach the pump. Its about 18" too short. I suppose I can just splice in some 5/8" hose but wanted to make sure that layout was correct before doing so. Can anyone help out?

Thanks!

Can someone post photos of their current setup on their 5.9?

Red to the pump. Yellow across the firewall to the driver area. Blue down the right fender to the line to the rear. Pulling the right front tire and plastic panel on the fender behind it will help.

Thanks for the help but unfortunately this did not work. Yellow wont fit over the outlet in the firewall(yellow is 1/2" and firewall needs 5/8") and blue is too large(5/8") for the stainless steel pipe under the passenger seat area(1/2").

I ended up hooking up red to the firewall, extending blue to the pump with more hose and a connector, and yellow to the stainless steel pipe under the passenger seat area.

Its all hooked up and seems to be running fine.

I guess that's what you get for using ebay used stuff. My dealer purchased unit's assembly went in fine.

Got any pictures?

This was an OEM part. Had Mopar stamped on it.

You don't need photos, it went in like my post #2 above. The electric pump (on pass fender well near firewall) feeds the fluid, so having the plastic Y's yellow end to that pump is the right way.

If thats the case then I have the wrong part number. Strange as there is no other reference out there. There is no way my hose will fit the way you describe.

*Edit*

Yep, thats exactly what happened. I didnt do my proper research. I bought part 55056063AC when I should have bought part 55056060AC. Thankfully there is another used one for a good price on Ebay.

Man, they are so close looking.
