Default My Infinity Amp is no more

After 15 years of use, the OEM infinity amp on the passenger kick panel bit the dust. The rear channels were getting weaker and weaker and finally went caput.

I now have a reason to install my Blauphunkt THA-475 that I bought a few years ago but never installed it as I was determining if I really need it.

Went to Fry's electronics and brought my Blauphunkt equipment with me. Saw they had a Kenwood BT362u Bluetooth receiver. It was on sale for $99! Awesome deal for what it offiers. The custom color illumination function, I was able to match the color of the kenwood lighting to the interior dash lighting. Now I can take hands free phone calls from my audio system as well a stream music from my phone. Talked to the audio technican about the Blauphunkt. This THA-475 series is about as close a match in terms of physical size so you can reuse the passenger kick panel to place the Blankphunkt amp.

I also bought the PAC SWI-RC steering wheel remote controller to connect my audio controls on the steering wheel to the Kenwood receiver as this receiver has remote control steering wheel compatibility.

Combine these to my already installed aftermarket Infinity speakers, the sound is super clear and clean.

Love the new system. At least twice as loud and super clean and clear as opposed to the original amp. I would say, about a 1.5 times louder then the OEM when it was still brand new but cleaner.

Does the new amp fit where the old amp was?

yes, the AMP was a perfect fit in the original passenger side kick panel. Plus, this AMP is plug and play. The blauphunkt wiring harness I ordered is OEM fit for the OEM infinity Decks. But I did not need all of them as I replaced the OEM deck with the kenwood.

this is awesome, do you happen to have part #s for everything (the wire harness adapters ect) in case someone else is interested in doing the same upgrade?

'amp is no more' is right. Crutchfield says the new amp is discontinued.

Link I posted a few years ago about this amp and its wiring kits.

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...plifier-2.html

The only place you can still buy this amp is thru Ebay. Do a ebay search for blaupunkt tha475 or tha275. I just checked and they have the amps available as well as the wiring kits.

Odd that no one in U.S. carries them anymore. Blaupunkt website shows this amp as if it is still in production.
