I've looked everywhere locally and everyone wants 500 or more bucks for one. So that's why I said screw it and am having the dealer do it for me. Plus they said my front drive shift spline was rounded off and they needed a new one of those also.

Well got the new transfer case and driveshaft in seems to be running good! I noticed there was a small spot of atf fluid on the snow this morning. Idk if that isn't just residual from when the transfer case got changed out or if it's leaking anywhere.

check where the driveshafts meet the transfer case and where the transfer case meets the transmission.

I did there was a little fluid coming from both those spots. Is it just residual from changing the t case or could it be a bad seal? Been dripping just a little bit for the last two days

clean it off and see if it keeps leaking.

Transfer case was probably cracked long before it blew up if you could hear the noises, mine was cracked and I knew it but still drove it 500 miles from the coast of North Carolina through the mountains of west virginia to western Kentucky. You could've gotten a case from a junkyard, checked it and got it for $125-$200 and installed it yourself. I got quoted at a shop for a $200 install since I already had the case so total it was $400 and some change if they did it, and it turns out my extension housing was cracked too so I didn't want to deal with moving the internals to another housing so I had them do it and it was a total cost of $750 for everything so $1300 seems unfair to me.
