Default power steering fluid?

Hello guys i just found this site and i really like it
theres lots of help and information about dodge durangos

One thing that i didnt find and i can really use you help is to know what kind of power steering fluid the owners manual reccomends
i dont have the manual and im going to change
The fluid

I would really appreciate if you could help me with that info
Im driving a 99 durango 5.9

It came with MS5931 fluid. Not to sure what that crosses to. You can pick yourself up an owners manual off eBay.

I already ordered one from ebay but since i wanted to change the fluid tomorrow im hoping to get an answer today or tomorrow

Im supposed to get the manual next week

Ok basically what i wanted to know was if i could upgrade to atf+4 instead of the MS5931 fluid
but that is not the case

I found out that i have to keep using the same fluid or equivalent like valvoline

Yeah. I think they switched to ATF+4 in 2000. I'd stick with the OEM.

If you get all of the old fluid out you can replace it with ATF+4, but you shouldn't mix the two. I needed some power steering fluid a while ago, and it turned out the Autozone branded fluid is listed as MS5931 compatible.
